SADDLE SKIRTING
Saddle skirting is a heavier
vegetable tanned leather ideal for saddle making. Natural dyed with
no topcoat and can be custom dyed as needed. Adaptable for tooling
and carving.
Thickness: 12-15 oz. (4.8-6.0 mm)
Natural Russet #1 Grade (LEA SA1)
HARNESS LEATHER
Harness Leather is hot stuffed with oils and waxes to impart a firm, tough and water resistant leather for the outdoor requirement of horse harnesses.
Half hides: 21-26 ft.
Colors: Black and Brown
Thickness: Light 9-11 oz.
(LEA Z1A), Medium 11-13 oz. (LEA Z2A), Heavy 13-15 oz. (LEA Z3A)
LATIGO
Although not a vegetable
tanned leather, Latigo can be used in harness and saddlery
applications. Latigo is chrome tanned but is hot stuffed with waxes
and oils to give it a very soft center for easy cutting into straps.
The finish is pigmented and topped with a good wear resistant top
coating.
Thickness: 7-8 oz. (2.8-3.2 mm)
Hides approx. 21-24 sq. ft.
Colors: Black, Medium Brown (LEA L3A)
CARVING & TOOLING
Carving is used in
orthopedic and prosthetic applications, as well as carving, stamping
and case making. Ideal for tooling belts and rifle cases. Natural
dyed with no topcoat and can be custom dyed as needed.
Thickness: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 oz.
Half hides approx. 20-24 sq. ft.

SOLE
BELLIES
Sole Bellies are an economical alternative for
small handicraft projects.
